Fear

Fear is a thriller novel by Jeff Abbott. Miles Kendrick, a former private detective now in the witness protection program, suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after witnessing the death of his best friend. He's been seeing a psychiatrist because of it. When she asks him for help, he feels obliged to help her. Just before he gets to her office building, her office explodes with a female body found in the ruins. He vows to find her murderer and get revenge. Upon investigating he discovers about a drug that helps cure PTSD, that is illegally being developed and tested without the FDA's knowledge. He, along with two other of her patients, set out to find the truth and see that her killer is brought to justice.

This book gives the reader a peek at what PTSD patients endure. It shows that many people outside of military personnel suffer from it. There is plenty of action throughout the story.
